For more than 30 years, I led the teams making high-stakes calls. Former Microsoft CTO, Asia Services. Former Red Hat VP, Asia Office of Technology. I ran organisations of 400+ specialists across 14 countries, originated and closed multi-million-dollar enterprise engagements, and built new business capabilities from the ground up. I also built Red Hat's first AI team in Asia Pacific, helping global organisations bring artificial intelligence into their work responsibly.
Three decades of those calls taught me something. AI raises the stakes on human judgement. It does not replace it. The calls that hold up under pressure come from leaders who built the right environment long before the pressure arrived.
